How to validate servers and implement change control? I am a IT professional, but I never worked in a environment where the network has to be validated and use change control. From the jobs that I worked for, if I needed to change the configuration of the network or server, add a program or patch, I just did it. I want to enable policies that any changes that need to be made need to get signed off by management. This provides me with a change control environment, so that if I got audited I can show what was changed and so forth. Just like there is software validation, I need to validate the servers that our company uses. I am new to this form of control, but I would like to know about what procedures your company uses when validating servers and implementing change control. Hope this makes sense. WOW itself is launched via an executable file on the PC, and then connects to the internet, but it is unclear as to where it connects (the whole screen is consumed by WOW so no URLs are visible). I also know that my kids connect to different WOW servers from time to time, but I assume that they are routed via a central WOW server of some sort. I've checked the Linksys forums, spoken with their tech support, and checked the WOW forums -- no luck. If you can answer this question, you will be my hero (and the hero of many parents out there). Why do servers not always get treated the best or get tipped well? I have been a server at a restaurant for two years and the customers don't seem to appreciate what I do.
